Description:
Information Session Alert: A Spotlight on Two of HCC's Exciting Health Science Programs!

Interested in becoming a key member of a healthcare team who helps provide crucial information on a patient's injury or illness? Passionate about animal care and interested in a healthcare profession dedicated to the well-being of animals? Come learn about two of HCC's exciting Health Science programs!

Radiologic technologists, also known as radiographers, use sophisticated equipment to produce radiographic images, or x-rays, of the human body at the request of a physician. With new advances in medical technology and a shortage of healthcare workers, career opportunities abound for radiologic technologists across the country! The HCC Radiologic Technology program prepares graduates to immediately enter the workforce as a professional in the field of diagnostic medical imaging. Students who successfully complete the program will receive an Associate of Science degree in Radiologic Technology.

A Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) is trained to handle many of the same responsibilities that a Registered Nurse (RN) and other professionals perform alongside physicians. Veterinary technicians serve roles as animal anesthetists, surgical technicians, radiology technicians, medical laboratory technicians, and veterinary dental hygienists.

An Approved Veterinary Assistant (AVA) supports the veterinarian and the veterinary technician in their provision of healthcare and is trained to perform multiple tasks under the supervision of veterinarians and veterinary technicians. The veterinary assistant is trained to assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in the provision of preventative healthcare, in the collection and preparation of laboratory samples, in the restraint and handling of animals, in the feeding, exercise, and care of animals in the clinic, in keeping medical records, in client communication, and in the preparation of equipment and supplies for medical and surgical procedures. HCC offers a two-year program that results in an Associate of Applied Science degree with a Veterinary Technician option and also offers a one-year, part-time Veterinary Assistant Certificate program.

If you're planning to apply to one of our selective or space-limited programs in Radiologic Technology, Veterinary Technology, or Veterinary Assisting, this information session will give you the opportunity to learn more about what each program is like, what the requirements are for each program, and the admission processes for each program.

Attendance at a program-specific information session, either online or in-person, is mandatory for students applying to Radiologic Technology or to the Veterinary Technician program. Attendance at this information session will fulfill that requirement.
